I was born in the Midwest, raised in the Southwest, and grew up in the Northwest, before finding a home in the Bay Area. Along the way, I’ve had the fortune to travel, explore, and learn from an incredible number of people and places.
I’m a researcher by both nature and training, with a human-centered approach to exploring and understanding how people work and work together. I’m fascinated by the role that social practices play in influencing the use of technology (and vice versa), and I thrive when I am able to partner with others to deconstruct situations and design the right solutions for the right problems.
I’m currently a user experience researcher at Facebook, where I’ve worked on the relaunch of Atlas, our video products, and (most recently) our advertiser tools. Prior to Facebook, I spent a year managing outreach and social media for the award-winning documentary, Chasing Ice.
I received a Masters of Science from the department of Human Centered Design and Engineering at the University of Washington, and a Bachelor of Arts in Rhetoric and Media Studies at Willamette University.
